I know I posted in the Best Friends board, but I also wanted to post the traits I look for when I'm looking for friends...

I look for someone who is honest, funny, true to themselves, likes to have fun and joke around, and is easy to talk to.

I know that covers a lot of people, but it has to be the right combination of all of those, plus some other little factors, that makes them able to be friends, let alone best friends, with me.

Someone who isn't a completly different person when drunk and isn't an alcoholic :(.

I pulled away from the closest friend I've ever had for that reason. After 5 years sticking by her and putting up with the crap, I just couldn't take it anymore. There is only so much a person can give (and take where the abuse was concerned) before they just run out of patience and energy to deal with it.

I'm hoping one day she will come to her senses and we can renew our friendship, without the booze she is a lovely person, but as long as the booze runs her life, I'm staying away.

the inability to ditch them because either they are unditchable physically, or because of emotional attachment
and the ability to trust them and say what ever crazy and strange statements I think without being judged.

Someone who can accept me for who I am and not who they want me to be. Someone nice, courteous, kind, and loving. Someone that can stick with me through my depression and can help to not become as depressed.

humm look for in a friend...a friend is someone who to me means a part of my heart. Who is there no matter what and forever , who gives you space to grow and and who share all parts of your life and you are there for them as well as they are for you. A true friend is rare so treassure what you have when you find one!
