Yes!!! Its finally started!!! I've been dying to watch some football. AAAHH *rips off shirts* GGRRRRR *runs around the neighborhood like a madman*

*returns to normal calm self*

So here I'd like to start football talk about teams, pregame talk, and postgame talk whatever. This is for any and all teams. If trash talking about other teams is ok with the mods that be great.

I'd to start with my prediction for the season. Pittsburgh Steelers all the way everyone else don't even try cause we have Big Ben. YEAH!!!

It will be fine, as long as the "trash talking" doesn't decend into flaming, flambaiting or trolling :).

As I don't know squat about American football, which seems to resemble a cross between ballet dancing and sumo wrestling to me (like our rugby), I'll keep my ignorant nose out of this thread and leave you guys to it :D.

STEELERS???? Who would want to see the Steelers win?

I personally, would want the Packs, or Pats to win. My husband would want the Browns to win. The only thing we fully agree on in football is that the Steelers SUCK!!!!! :D

yarnellcg17
08-11-2005, 06:44 AM
Ohhhhhhhhhhh Js..when are you gonna convert..
Pats will not do it again this year I don't think..
But I do see something from the Packs..
I think they will improve even better then last year

JsWoman

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The New England Patriots  heeded their coach's advice to treat their trip to Green Bay  as though this were November  and not August. "Every game is a regular-season game, anywhere, anyplace, any time. It doesn't matter who, when, where, why, what," insisted Asante Samuel, whose early interception set the tone in the Patriots' 27-3  pasting of the Green Bay Packers :( on Friday night.

Well at least I didn't lose on that game. :D Since I like both. And Joen... I have lived in both Wisconsin and New England, and have realized if I want to survive with some of my friends, I better be rooting for the Pats at least half the time.

I like craisins. They are good and sweet, and healthy. As far as drinks?? No heinekins, too strong for me. But I'll take some of the bacardi or vodka mixers, or a Long Island Iced Tea.

yarnellcg17
08-29-2005, 07:33 AM

Hmm... Cleavland bites the dust, again. :angel2: Why doesn't that surprise me, any?? :D I think my husband needs a new team, but he was born and bred in Ohio and won't give up his alleigence, anytime soon.

yarnellcg17
08-29-2005, 07:42 AM
Nopes most Ohioans ..don't give up on the Browns..

Although it is a very interesting scene yearly in that state... especially in October..

JsWoman
08-29-2005, 07:45 AM
Can imagine that would be so.

*sits back and enjoys her food and drinks, while waiting for the next game to start* What do you mean that isn't for another few days.  :D

yarnellcg17
08-29-2005, 08:13 AM
hehehehe..

not going anywhere soon..

here have a snickers Js..while you wait those next few days out.. :D

JsWoman
08-29-2005, 08:17 AM
Hmm... I can do something better than sit and wait for the next game... I have a daughter that would like to get out and do something, soon... Take her to the library, cause I have to take the books back that I finished reading on Saturday evening, and also do some housework. Not all fun, but when I finish doing that, I can relax and wait out the next few days, without just sitting around and wasting time, needlessly. Besides, need to get the house in order before hubby comes home on Thursday or Friday.

yarnellcg17
08-31-2005, 04:56 AM
I'm sure you can accomplish that :D

Well, isn't looking as if my hubby will be home tomorrow, so I won't have to fight him... May have to fight my brother, though, because he'll want to see the NE more than GB game.

yarnellcg17
08-31-2005, 02:06 PM
1 thing I likes is no battle for me..but let the battle begin..

On the gridiron that is :D

a penalty may be involved for unsportsman like conduct..hehehehe

JsWoman
08-31-2005, 02:08 PM
Oh, you mean like the baseball game from last night where a Florida player threw a ball, deliberately, at a Boston player??? I would call that unsportsman like. ;););)

yarnellcg17
08-31-2005, 02:13 PM
Well on that note..you'll hafta ask your brother if he would be able to take it..

So Louisville sluggers match again in the MLB..geesh..who got mamed..

JsWoman
08-31-2005, 02:16 PM
Don't know.... heard about it second-hand and didn't bother looking in the paper to see if there is anything on it there...

On the games tomorrow... I am sure he and I can come to some sort of agreement.. Even if that means that he watches in his room and I watch in the livingroom. :D :angel1:

yarnellcg17
08-31-2005, 02:27 PM
Well if I were your brother I'd guess..I'd settle for the bedroom..I would be able to make all the noise I wanted seeing a sack and or a good play done ..:D

JsWoman
08-31-2005, 02:30 PM
:D Yup, can't blame him if he were to take that route, but thats ok. :D

yarnellcg17
08-31-2005, 02:48 PM
When it comes to where I like to watch a game..I'm King of the Living Room..TV is much bigger when it comes to good quality viewing too..
And if the kidders are here they know I rule :D

JsWoman
09-01-2005, 10:09 AM
Well, if the kidders are there, they are usually out with their friends.... So you don't have a whole lot of competition for the tv, anyway. :p

yarnellcg17
09-01-2005, 11:16 AM

LOL!!

Well, can say that I'm happy that I support both the NE Patriots and GB Packers, considering that I get a 50/50 chance when they go head to head. Sorry to say that NE got hammered, though. But to make me happy, again, GB kicked butt.

My hubby will be happy to know that Browns won. Give him hope that they might actually make it to the superbowl this year. Like that'll happen. ;)

NFL commissioner: Saints unlikely to play in New Orleans

September 1, 2005
NEW YORK (AP) -- NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue says it's unlikely the Saints will play in New Orleans this season after the devastation Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath inflicted on the city.

``At this point you have to proceed on the assumption ... that they may be unable to play in New Orleans at all for the entire season,'' Tagliabue said Thursday in an interview with CNBC.

``If things evolve in a positive way, then that would be something that we could adjust to. But our assumption is that for planning purposes, we should assume it will be difficult if not impossible to play in New Orleans at all this year.''

JsWoman
09-04-2005, 06:04 PM
Well, I suppose that would be expected, but, even if they don't play this year, they should be back next year. Either way, I pray that the situation down there is able to be sorted out.

yarnellcg17
09-04-2005, 07:27 PM
No they will play this year..but not in The Louisiana Superdome..I'm thinking they will move the Saints to Texas for all of 2005 season.. so they can be a part of the NFL season as if nothing ever happened to their season by Katrina... Plus the Saints have to fulfill the obligation of being a franchise..and with the NFL's help they will be able to this year.. and I'm glad to see that the NFL is contributing Monies to that area for relief :angel2:

The Late Green Bay Packers Reggie White( 1961-2004 ) acknowledges the crowd as he walks off the field following their 35-28 win over the Chicago Bears on Nov. 12, 1995, in Green Bay, Wis. The Packers will retire White's No. 92 on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, and coach Mike Sherman challenged his team to live up to White's legacy. :angel2:

Goodluck to our teams..
Pittsburgh you know what to do with Houston

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl;_ylt=AnggDvHtNIbrin3zd0LQPTwRvLYFRest Of Week 2 Schedule

On Sept. 2, the Saints officially found out the site of their first ``home'' game, with NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue announcing that the contest would be moved to Giants Stadium. With the Jets playing their home opener there Sunday, the league was forced to create an unusual Monday night doubleheader, with Washington playing Dallas in the regularly scheduled game.

Holy crap i've been gone a good while. Sorry guys but school has started and i'm busy studying and stuff so i'm not on here that much. Also i have my fantasy football so i gotta take care of that cause i want to win this year. Also all the other crap them i'm going to this year...like football game, golf tourny, school stuff. Guess what club i'm president of......Games Club! I know its kinda funny or not funny at all. I've been the president for 2 years as well as some other clubs.

This week look pretty interesting a lot of cool matchups i'll try and post about them later.

yarnellcg17
09-19-2005, 05:58 AM
Green Bay lost a home opener for the 3rd straight season as Cleveland got a win when they needed it, as not to possibly fall 2 games back in the AFC North behind rivals Pittsburgh and co state rival Cincinnati. But it isn't the end yet for Green Bay.. they have been 0-4 and have managed to make it to the playoffs in seasons past.
New England saw a bit of a melt down against Carolina, with Penalties. Dropped passes. Special teams breakdowns..but remember it is only week 2 and there is still some time to come back and improve from all of that..

JoeN
09-25-2005, 10:05 AM
Well i'm gonna be at the Steeler game today and i'm sure some of you might know who we're playing...The Pats. Its going to be interesting. I'll try to take some picture and post them up here. Go Steelers!!! :D :D :D :D

Ok i umm don't have a pics cause i left the camera at home. I would have taken some with the phone but i was too drunk to do that. I was very drunk but i was able to follow the game well...i was just mixing the players up. Thankfully i was nice a sober by the end of the game. Anyways the game was exciting and frustrating. What i couldn't understand was why, why randle el would do that latral. As drunk as i was i knew that he should have just went down and the Steelers would have had great field position. I would have been more crazy at the game but the whole row of people behind me looked like they didn't want to be there. When people would get up cheer and try to get the people behind me into the game they were just sitting there. So because of them i sat down more then i normally did and i was more quiet. Sorry no pics. I'll try next time...I'm a season ticketholder :D so i'll be at the Halloween game all dressed up and stuff.

I'm back to my editorials as I was in a bit of a dormant/writers block for most of the week..

I'm not sure what happened either at the end of that game between NE and Pittsburgh..but mistakes happen and NE capitalized off of it as they needed to avoid going 0-2 in Week 3 and to avoid more probs from Week 2..

San Diego
New England 1:00pm Sunday

Clevelands loss to Indy wasn't a terrible loss..but doesn't help them in the AFC North..Bye week for them this week... next opponent for Cleveland is Da Bears

Green Bay 0-3 for the 1st time in 17 yrs so they say..I'm not sure what past statistics history they get that from..but I do know that it was around 1992 they were at 0-3 before and even as recent in this decade...
But they need a winning spark against Carolina Monday Night..

I was at the Steeler game against the Ravens and wow that was waay too close i love/hate those games. It was a lot of fun i dressed up as a pimp for that game which was the same outfit i used last year the downside to this is that the outfit is purple. So everytime someone tried to make fun of me for being a ravens fan i had to show them the terrible towel and made them look stupid. During the game i was surprise how well the Ravens were protecting Anthony Wright cause the steelers couldn't get any pass rush on him...NONE. That was really pissing me off. Also there were some very questionable calls that didn't make any sense and i thought Cowher should've had reviewed...which he didn't do. But this game wasn't as emotional as the Steeler/Jets playoff game last year...wow I was so scared, happy, sad, mad, etc, etc during that game i screamed so much i couldn't really talk the next day.

Sunday November 13th was definitely a wild day in the NFL...

A field goal that was sheered by 50 mph wind in Chicago.. then caught by Bears CB Nathan Vasher for a 108-yard return Sunday -- is now the longest return play in NFL history...
The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio has made request for his jersey and the game ball for showcasing..

Minnesota the 1st team in NFL history to score TD's on a Punt return..a Kickoff return and a Fumble return all 3 in the same game..
----------------------------------------------------------------
Pittsburgh beats Cleveland 34-17 to now take a small tie breaker lead over Cincinnati for 1st place in the AFC North..both teams now 7-2 in the division as Cincy had the bye-week..Back to face Baltimore next week for Pittsburgh..Miami will host Cleveland..

New England beats Miami 23-16 getting New England back above the .500 mark..New England at New Orleans next week..

Green Bay pulls the wool over Atlanta eyes winning 33-25 yesterday..but if things are on the up and up for Green Bay..the real test will be against Minnesota next week..

JsWoman
11-15-2005, 03:39 PM

Ok new England is very beat up and they are going to need Brady to pull them through the rest of the games and Green Bay...well....they need some serious help but the Packer fans are very loyal i know a few and they could care less if the Packer lose every game. I don't understand why the Packer are stinking it up this year. Did anyone see that Philly and Dallas game. OOHH man I was SSO happy Dallas won. When I saw that TD to Terry Glenn I was just happy cause i knew Philly was gonna lose.

field goal that was sheered by 50 mph wind in Chicago.. then caught by Bears CB Nathan Vasher for a 108-yard return Sunday

I whatched that and i was just shocked. That was some kicka** return. Now JS i just don't understand how you can hate the Steelers there must be something wrong with you. But you do have my woman in your avatar so I guess you're ok.

The Bungles no More??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who'd thunk it..the The Cincy Bungles.. er Bengals Winning the AFC North Title... and their last 2 Games are against 2 easy teams..well KC might not be so simple..

I say.. despite that.. Pittsburgh picks up the solid Wild Card against Cleveland next week and goes to The AFC Championship like last year..and to me ..that sounds much better then Cincy

Go BlitzBurgh !!! and Big Ben!!
