I'm just thinking out loud here...(and trying to post 15 so I can play the games!)
Why does this site require you to post stuff in the forum before you can play the free games they advertise? Why do they care? It just seems kind of dumb that they force you to post random junk just so that you can play.

I think it has to do with getting you to see both halves of the site, instead of just going straight for the games. But, I know one of the mods could say for sure. I, personally, find it refreshing to be able to come and post on random threads and get your thoughts out there. I mean, my friend, Yarnell, and I have been posting every chance we get so that we can see what other levels there are. He's at Bunny Smasher, and I'm finally to the next level of Tetris Addict.

You can find the answer to your question in this thread (http://www.randomgames.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123) :)

Its basically because we feel 15 posts from members, which add to and help the forum grow, is a fair exchange for access to the games.

I think the 15 posts is a good idea. The day i joined i met yarn through the posts and he seems cool to me :)

What's The Point?

Well it gives good input if the inputs are on topic.. and breeds good discussion among those who wish to contribute.. alot just do the required 15 posts and may say nothing more after they do..but they are ruled by rules such as no spamming and can be deleted if deemed as spam...and the new member may have to redo a post that is proper..

And Yes .. to basically help this forum grow along with the site as a whole..

If you have any questions about the site, or trying to figure out what is a "legal" post, you can message any one of the moderators that might be on at that moment. Or, you might also try reading the forum rules, they are stickied at the top of each forum. Besides that, try to have fun, and when you get to your 15 posts, you won't be required to post anymore, but we will welcome you if you choose to.

personally, i would be more likely to post here in the long run if i wasn't forced to post 15 posts before playing games. i like message boards, and i like discussions, but it seems like everyone (or many people) post the minimum and move on cause it feels kind of controlling. i dunno. seems there might be a better way to promote the forums?

It's not that it's a controlling thing with people..it's basically site growth and the ability to make it grow..along with making it fun for all who do like to post even after they have made 15 posts.. One person that would have an answer for ya as far as changes would be our Administrator..as he does and has quite frequently made good changes to RG :)

Just as Yarnell has said, it's for growth.. If you have any ideas, you can send them to the mods, or straight to Shaggy, but don't message him with complaints.

Alot of sites I have come across cost money to play their games. This is free just a little time to submit a couple of forums. Not too bad.

so far ive not had the chance to do anything, i think 15 threads it way too many to start with, 5 or ten maybe but some of us just want to start on the games rather than mess about typing random stuff for ages

and it gets annoying when someone like me keeps posting random rubbish just to get numbers up

oh well its the only way to get on games so here i am

exactly, ive not been on this site for ages just because i cant be arsed with the postings it sucks, ppl who want to post will post, let them get on with it and allow ppl who dont wanna to carry on without
