I can't believe RG has been up for a year now and no-one has started one of the favorite forum threads of all time :D.

Which is your favorite Star Wars movie and why?

Mine is what used to be the 3rd movie but is now the 6th. Return of the Jedi. I guess I like this one because the Ewoks are cute and it tied up some loose ends. I also liked seeing the end of Jabba, though they could have thought up a more gruesome way to kill him :p.

I'm also one of those weird people who doesn't hate the new movies and...shock horror....I liked Jar Jar Binks :angel2::D.

I've not seen any of them except for the first one and I've not even watched all of that one. I plan on borrowing them from a friend sometime though. They sound really cool.

Jar Jar Binks... right. *scribbles something into a small notebook* :D

I cannot really tell my favourite film from the episodes IV, V and VI as I like all of them extremely much. The atmosphere in the 4th episode feels perhaps a bit better than in the following ones thanks to the introduction of Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, but the character of Lando Calrissian does a lot for the latter two. Ewoks I don't find as cool as I did a few years ago, but they're helpful little fellows still. From all the people introduced in the trilogy I like the Sand People the most, for some reason; they're totally nuts and always roaming about with their rifles. :D

From the newer three episodes I've only seen episodes 1 and 2, of which I hated both. The 1st episode feels totally like a Disney movie with the little kid, Jar Jar Binks, the race and crap alike. The worst part however is definitely the way how the whole concept of being a Jedi is ruined (to me at least), something I cannot describe here as it'd perhaps be a spoiler for those not having seen it yet. In episode 2, Hayden Christensen or whatever his name is just simply put is a repulsive character. Oh yeah, and I cannot stand the so-called "cool" siths featured in the newer episodes.

I'm planning to go see the third episode during summer, when the theatres begin to look a bit less like a market place. I liked the original trilogy more without the extra three episodes, but I still expect to see some quality entertainment in the final episode.

For all those Jedis out there, here's your chance to CHALLENGE LORD VADER (http://www.sithsense.com/flash.htm): with the help from the Dark Side of the Force, he'll read your mind. Yes, be afraid.

Well you pretty much summed up what I think of the Star Wars series Mantzaros. I loved the original series but I don't like the new ones. I haven't seen the latest one and don't intend to go see it at the theatre because I was so disappointed with the other 2.

Out of the originals I did like VI Return of the Jedi the most, I guess I liked the Ewoks a lot at the time, I thought they were funny and cute.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I feel many movie producers go way too far with a popular series or idea. When a really good movie is made, it is very common for a sequel to be made and released these days which I feel is not being done for our entetainment but simply to make more money. How many times have we seen multiple sequels to a movie until the idea is well and truly dead and they only stop once the profits drop too much or they start to lose money.

Anyway enough of my critical view of the film industry, if I write any more I may have to start something in the Philosophers Playground:D

I agree with you, Mick, on the multiple sequals that happen to movies these days, but you forgot to mention the fact that a lot of the popular movies, of late, have also been turned into tv shows.

ned you suck....I think star wars is by far the best saga of all times. Episode IV: A new hope is probably my favorite on of the originals. you can't go wrong with that one. It started it all. Of the newer ones episode 3 is my favorite. I had been waiting since i heard they were making the first three for this one to come out. It tied everything together, and you finally got to see what happens at anakin to turn him to the dark side. Not the mention the kick ass fight seen between anakin and obi wan. That was the best fight scene in any of the movies. Although Episode I and II weren't the best I think it was a good idea to make the first three. I thought George Lucas was trying to appeal to kids more in Episode I with the creation of Jar Jar (who sucks). Im pretty sure he learned from that and didn't really put him in the other ones. (Thanks) Anyways that about wraps up with how i feel about star wars. anyone want to talk about them more email me.

I have the last Lord of the Rings movie, but I'm waiting on my husband to be home and in the mood to watch them all, so I can enjoy them.. He watched the first one, then hated the way they left him hanging at the end of it, so said he wouldn't watch any of the others until all 3 were out and we owned them, so we could watch them all.

I would say this is my order from best to worst:
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the Sith (Yeah so there were one or two bad acting scenes)
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Attack of the Clones
Phantom Menace (Jarr Jar sucks!)

i think Episode 3 is the best one of the series it ties all the loose ends up and the fight scene between anakin and obi wan has got to be the best fight scene EVER. The fight in Episode I is pretty sweet too.

The New 3 Films are atrocious. Was very dissappointed in them. I hated Anakin he was a pleb. But the original 3 are amazing. Easily the best though is The Empire Strikes Back. That is a film and 2 halfs!

I like the movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I know that animation is a bit cheesy, but the show is not so bad. I know that the droids and the characters make childish remarks and noises, but the action is pretty cool in parts. You get to see the development of some of the other characters like the coolest Jedi ever
