View Full Version : Who lives with their parents and wants to move out?
I'm 15. I wish I was 18 though. Go ahead and get on with my life you know.
I'm 30, and when you reach my age, you will wish you were 15 again:D
I think its funny how teenagers want to be 18, and you look forward to it all that time, then when you get there you think "Is that it? well 18 is not that exciting after all!". Sure its nice to be able to go out to the nightclub with friends and have a drink, but it's really not much different at all.
Enjoy your youth while you still have it ;)
Is anyone living with their parents and keen to leave? Or is there anyone who doesn't want to move out for some reason?

Well. My house life isn't the greatest so I'm wanting to reach the age where you can leave and never have to come back. I really hate it at home... Oh well. I have three years of highschool then I'm gone. And I'll never go back.
Yeah I know what you mean, I moved out as soon as I could afford it. I do like my freedom though, I get on all right with my parents as long as I don't live with them:D

My parents and I will never get along. But I don't mind. I won't have to have someone be on my back when I get out of highschool. I'll be on my own and I won't have to worry about anyone. Just take care of myself. (I know that sounds selfish but I can't wait.)

It doesn't sound selfish to me, that's the way I felt when I was your age. I was very keen to move out and become independant as you say. Once I moved out from home I found that I got on with my parents a lot better so you may find the same when you move.
Good luck to you when you do though, it's difficult at first but fun to have freedom.:)
Edit I have decide to split these posts into a separate thread since there are a few and could be more.
So what about the rest of you? Is anyone living with their parents and keen to leave? Or is there anyone who doesn't want to move out for some reason?

You don't understand. My parents are... (I'm not aloud to say) The only one they care about is my brother. They wanted me to be baby Sean all over again. My older brother died at six weeks because he had worms and holes in his heart. So my mom divorced my brothers dad and married my dad then they had me. I was supposed to be Sean. Instead I was girl and so now I'm just pretty much their maid. I don't see why they treat me like that. That is why I say when I get out I won't have to worry about anyone but me. I won't have to clean after people when they eat. (Even if I didn't eat dinner I still have to clean the kitchen) I usually don't eat dinner because I have to pay for the food I eat. I have to pay for everything. I'm the only one that even has a job right now. My mom was fired and my dad can't find anyone that will employ him. Oh well. Only three more years of this. Then I'm on my own. (If I ever have kids I'll treat them with the best respect ever. But I don't want to have kids. Unless I adopt) I'll probably be the nicest mother you could ever find around.

hmmm . . . i would actually like to move out because I would have a lot more freedom then. I basically do most opf the housework anyways, so i don;lt think that'll be a problem for me when i move out, but the main thing is where I live.
Right now imlive twenty kmn from town. I want to live right near tiown., No further then 5 km from the nearest supermarket and shopping plaza.
becuas eit is simply too hard to do anyhtign.
Get a job, volunteer work, go over to friends, gomto conventiosnl, tournaments, extracurricular activities, etc.
not to mentionm the cost of transportation everyday to where I need to go!
It kmgiht be more expensiove housign-wise to live in towen, but I calculated that assumign i live in an apartment where the rent is about 500$ a week in the middle of town, I would still save abotu 3,200$ a year on gas, minus the housing costs.
Not includ9ing plumbing, heating, and electricity.
gee, 'm glad my parents are paying for everything right now . . .. they Aare spoenidng a fortune on gas.
you want to kn0ow how many miles we have on our mint condition ten-year old van? abotu a MILLION kilometers.
yeah.
in ten years.
100,000 a year.
and a danm lot of liters of gas . . .
then, there is also freedom.
I don;t have to do the dishes or clean the house when i donm;t want to. I can wait till iu ahve enough energy or soem lengthy job I wanmt to procastinate from to actually do it.
I can hardly wait.

I'm just looking forward to being able to own a place... But if you really want to move out of your parents house and have minimal housework.. Join the military, air force is the best, in my opinion...

How about kids who won't leave home?
My kid brother is 37 and quite happy living with our mother. He has no plans to leave. Don't get the wrong idea though. He works bloody hard and completly pays his own way, he's just happy where he is.
In one way I'm glad he's there so if anything happens to our mother she has someone else in the house to help her.

Thats a good side to look at, but the majority of people do want to move out of their parents' house. But, in your mom's case, I'm glad your brother is there, helping out.

I don't hate my parents, I'm just tired of being here. I need change. My mom is going through menopause and it's getting on my nerves. Mood swings. The rest of the family is okay though. I just wanna leave. Can't do that without money though. It'll be awhile.

Yeah, but beware...going on college brings a certain ammount of freedom. You can go out without being controlled, have partys, etc... u know what I mean but I reccomend you to take your education very seriously. Otherwise you'll come back home after two years without any results.
Oh yeah, you'll start to hate the smell of cantine food very soon...although it tastes good..sometimes :P
Other thing is you'll also have to be careful about your spending money. Luckilly, I have a scholarship.
I live on my own since I was 19 for let's say like 8 months every year, I come back home for summer, holidays, weekends.

I'll be happy to move into a place that I can call my own, hopefully by spring, but, until then, pay rent and save as much money as I can.
Must be nice to know that when you aren't at college you have a place to go back to.

Yeah..I remember back when I was 18 jobs were not good.. I had been out of high school nearly 2 yrs and by 1984.. I had no idea as to how it was going to be as far as moving out on my own..I joined the US Navy that yr and have been out on my own ever since..

Well... Sorry the jobs weren't so great, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back then ;) , but I think they are getting better. I, personally, joined the Army, but learned to be more independant with that experience.

I'm not a fan of living with my parent even though they're pretty cool, will probably move out in a year or so.
