I've noticed that we have 1,551 members and they don't post a lot. it might be a good Idea to do a little "Spring Cleaning" because what's the point of having members who don't post, or post just to get to the games, and never post again. Just an idea, what do you guys think?
make up new threads maybe the'll post more

I think posting just to get to the games is ok. They've done their requirement to get access and I don't think its fair to punish them because they prefer the games to the forums.
I do agree that maybe some of the very old, not been touched for many months accounts could perhaps be cleaned out but thats up to Shaggy. We also have many double, triple etc accounts where one person registered muliple times under different nicks.
As for the new threads idea Hiei, you are right, it may increase interest :). If you or anyone else has new thread ideas, post them. We welcome all contributions (within the rules of course:D).
i'll try my best to help around this site ;) :D
i have a ? for ya when u make a new thread does it count towards ur post

I'm not sure what you mean.
If you mean does a new thread count as a post towards your postcount, yes it does (just tested it) and every post you add to it or someone else's thread counts too :).
I merged your posts in this thread. If you need to add something, just click on the edit button, type what you want and submit ;):).
i changed it but when i entered the site it said i had 5 post?????
nvm i got back to the amount i had

Well, I think that the forums maybe need to be expanded...on a website that I am a Moderator at, we have specific forums for every console (and I mean EVERY console) and RG's Philosophers Playground splits into three different sections at this other website, and we have a lot of posting going on. I don't mean to sounds like a stock analsyst but maybe difersifying will help post numbers here?

Not sure what types of forums can be split up, can you give me some examples?

I don't mean to sounds like a stock analsyst but maybe difersifying will help post numbers here? The only problem I can see with this is having lots of forums but with only 5 or 6 threads in each. That can be a pain for members too because they have to keep going from forum to forum to post in their fav threads instead of having it all in one. Lots of spacific forums is also confusing to new members and I'm speaking from experience here :).
As far as splitting the Philosophers playground up, I'll fight that tooth and nail. It only has 25 threads in it and is not hard to navigate or find things in. That forum is my baby, so hands off :D:D.
I also don't think we need a forum for every different console as PC and console central also only has 25 threads in it.
I do think we could maybe consider a forum for music and entertainment (TV, movies ect) and get them out of the Off Topic lounge.
What I think we really need to do however is think up more ways to emphasise the Arcade section. Lets fact it thats what most members come here for. I believe if we can give them more to talk about with arcade related subjects then maybe we would get more of them posting. The ones who just come in for the games really don't have much interest in other subjects ;):).

Well honestly, I feel completely differently. As a member of several sits and Moderator of two (a game site and a Lacrosse site) I feel that specificity is actually more helpful, because if all person cares about is one aspect, for instance the new Xbox 360 or the new Warrior stick line then they don't have to go sifting through loads of other threads to find it. As far as the philosopher's playground goes, I'm not saying its necessary to split it up, I'm just saying that I know our members enjoy the one-area forums, and considering the rate at which this site is dying, I figured you'd be open to suggestion.

I am open to suggestions but just don't see the point of having lots and lots of forums with only a few threads in each but ultimatly its not my decision so you can take what I say with a grain of salt.

If its not your call then I don't think you need to be so combative. All I'm trying to do is help the site out a little bit. Sorry.
I think I would have to agree with you Arkacia, at the moment there really is not much point in making more forums because the existing ones cover all topics. They are just a bit more general because of the size of this site. When the forums get bigger then it would certainly be a good idea to expand the forums then.
That is my opinion though and we always welcome suggestions from any of our members:)

I was giving my opinion and thoughts on the idea, thats all. I also used smilies during my first post to try to emphasise the fact that I wasn't having a go at you. The two grinning smilies after my Philosophers playground comment should have conveyed that it wasn't a threat and I wasn't swinging a sword in the air as I wrote it ;):).
I stand by what I said. You feel differently. Ultimately its up to the boss to decide what he wants to do, if anything :).
That's right...it's up to the boss:D
I wouldn't say the site is dying, we did have a big increase in the number of posts a while ago but that was mainly by only a few people doing lots of posts in the Forum Games. Although it does seem quiet now, this is the way it was before all those posts. Some people come and go and most members only use the Arcade so the forums are not as big as a normal dedicated forum site where members visit for the forums only.
We are gradually getting bigger though......these things take time :)

Well, I think we may need to put in a console section and see how it goes, if it is slow, we can take them out? What do you 2 think?
That's fine with me if you want to do that Shaggy:), it doesn't make much difference to me.....just more work for you:D

I'd say that a console section at this time is a very good idea, due to the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) happening, and the release of the Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Revolution in less than a year. At the site I'm a mod at, those forums have gone bananas.

Sounds fine to me if you want to give it a go Shaggy :).
How many consoles does this mean though? Just wondering because there seem to be quite a few on and coming onto the market these days. I read something about a Playstation 3 somewhere (your FF forum I think) recently.
