This is just an interesting little thread, meant for helpful suggestions to the site. Shaggy said he welcomes them, so I started this. I put this in the off-topic forum because putting it in the feedback is like abandoning a baby in a garbage can. ;)

If you could make one or two changes to the RandomGames.com website, what would they be within reason? Please keep it serious...

I would give the site a new logo and maybe a new color scheme...

Well, Im all for more games and the color scheme. I have a few I will put on. Hope I can network into my computer that has crashed (that has all the games.. :( )

Will you guys not mind if I just changed the color of the forum, not really the texture, but just colors of tables and background. Crap like that? I just can't find a vb skin I love.

I just made a quick look for vBulletin skins (free, of course :p), and I ran across this one which seemed to impress pollo and myself. It sort of keeps the same colors, but giving it a much more modern touch... It's on the following link, and only one problem... it's in German. I'm not familiar with vBulletin, so I don't know if you can translate it into English, but anyways, here's the link. It's the theme called "image Style"...

You can upload one for yourself from your own computer :p:).

The avatar size is very generous, 160 X 160, so you should be able to find a nice pic somewhere on the web, save it to your comp, and upload it here.

Personally, I like finding my own avatars as opposed to using one from a site gallery, because the chances of someone else using the same one is very small, so it makes the av more personal :)

I'm actually glad that this site doesn't have a picture gallery. But, you can do a search on google and find jpgs that can be saved to use later on.

As far as a change... More things that can bring the RG community togther, more often.

As you can all see, the site has been updated and given a nice new modern looking skin. If anyone has suggestions to improve the place further (except for complaining about the 15 posts which has its own thread in feedback, and won't be changing), then post and tell us.

If it can be done, chances are it will :).

Well, we could always drop the post requirement and introduce a pay to play system instead. I've heard on the grapevine that more and more arcade sites are charging money, maybe we should too?

Yes, that was sarcasm. 15 decent posts isn't that hard to do, and many members manage it without any problems. All you need to do is look in this area and you'll find threads that require nothing more taxing than putting in your age, location, ect.

I deleted a load of spam posts yesterday. Didn't look to see who's name was on them, and if any of them were yours richyaustin, then I'm sorry, but they had to go :p.

The 15 posts isn't that hard. Just take a look at other threads in this area, and you'll find ones only asking age, location ect. If you don't like posting much, then once you've done the 15, you'd need not post again if you don't want to. We have more than a few members who have not posted again after earning their arcade access :).

Could do with more games, or at least links to other game websites. Could do that and make people pay to become a "featured website" and then earn a bit of money. Could take away the fifteen forum posts rule, that sucks. Could advertise a bit more. Could make a way that you choose the color of the background. That would be really cool : )

i'm pretty sure i read on another thread that they did it to encourage people to start posting more on the forum, and by making it so you have to post 15 times before you can play games, they're showing you the entirety of the forum and you can post and get more excited about posting...although i think it was originally 10 posts. guess the traffic's been down a bit.
