We all knew this one was coming... which do you think is better and why?

I'm all over the DS... touch screen, RPGs will work great with dual screens... but I'll let you fill in the rest of the thread (tho I'll still interject)...

I am a pure hater of all things Nintendo, so I have to vote for the PSP, which I think is pretty slick and I might go pick one up.

Idk, I like the idea of the PSP, but in reality, I think the price and fragility of it will weigh it down in the long run, in addition to a shorter battery life. So that's why I have a DS... although this may be my last Nintendo system if they don't get their acts together.

Gross, Nintendo was a complete failure after the SNES. This will be no different; their games suck.

the PSP is better no comparison i mean the concept for a touch screen is just stupid and the screens are really tiny. the graphics on the PSP are much better and i believe that the titles for the PSP are much better. but the only problem i have with it is the hefty price tag. the PSP has much more capabilities than the DS for example you watch movies, listen to music, and download media on to it. i have played both of the systems and my opinion stands

Another interesting tidbit/rumor/fact?: The DS is technically not supposed to be compared to the PSP, despite their similarities. The Game Boy Advance successor, which is rumored to be introduced at E3 this May is supposed to be more on par with the PSP. However, we'll see.... :D

I have heard that as well. The DS may just be an interesting little device for diehard gamers to experiment with in the long run... The next GameBoy is supposed to operate at an eqaul or higher level than the PSP. Still, could the DS have another purpose.

Battery life is a huge factor for the time being though... If anybody remembers the Sega GameGear, it was technologically miles ahead of the GameBoy of that time, but due to the crappy battery time, it ultimately died and blew into the wind carrying its blessed little ashes across the land :angel1:

I have nothing against Sony making a handheld, it's just that I think that they'll need a bit more experience.

As a side note, the combined screen size of the DS is actuaaly larger than the PSP...

I think the PSP is cool and doual screens is a dumb idea cause u use 1 screen to actually play the game and the other one to see the map/other stuff so da PSP is better it's(PSP) got better games so there PSP is better hands down. So  Nintendo DS

I agree, the PSP has far better features. The fact that it can not only play games, but music and movies, and even transfer data from PC to PC is amazing. It will be the prefect gadget for people like me who like everything in one

well even though i disagree with you entirly i have to say that it completely depends on what kind of games you like if you like E rated games which i dont like that much accept the classics like mario but it wasent a failure after snes more like after N64 because that was the best system made by nintendo next to nes but gamecube and ds SUCK

Personally i own both. I play my psp more, but ironically enough i am usually playing old nintendo emulators on it so does that mean i prefer nintendo more? I suppose not they have just not released enough games that implement the 2.0 version for me to update yet. The only flaw in the psp is that they keep making ports of old games and not any origional games.

They have had original games on PSP, just think they have used up all of their ideas for new games, lately, since they have so many already.

Neither system seems to have that great of games yet. That's why I'm waiting to see which will have better games. The PSP has other nice functions, but i've heard that for the mp3, for instance, its really expensive to buy enough memory to have a decent number of songs so you might as well just get an ipod or something.

DS hands down Dual screen pwns :D

widescreen > 2 screens. plus both thoes screens together is about the size of the main screen on psp.

DS has better games tho, altho i use the psp slightly more because of the internet/video options it has. and nintendo emulator on it.... i dont really play any games on em tho. dont really like handheld games.

graphics wise the psp is the best bet but i think the ds is the best for playability as it has a huge selection of games available and more awesome upcoming titles. plus the ds has the new mario, which is wicked.

Sony PSP; it has the games from a normal console playstation, the same intensity, with a wide distance WiFi, you download porn straight onto, holds all music, all photos, all videos, with different memory cards,

Nintendo DS; it has a touch screen.. thats about ALL its good for, the game types and genres ar aimed for 12 and undered, or 40+ , but basically for primary school children.

honestly, Sony PSP, is Superior to Nintendo DS.
