View Full Version : Three Clues To Solve Game

supermario
03-28-2005, 07:24 PM
With the success of the quiz games, the load the boats game, and the A-Z band game, I've decided to make my own twisted game with many more possibilities...

In this game, a person will give a topic, and three obscure clues about an unknown place/location/thing (depending on the topic)... make them hard but not impossible... the person who gets the previous answer correct will make the next post after the person who wrote the question tells them they are correct. If you post clues with a topic that has been closed or never opened, then your question will be replaced. Also, if you post a question, and nobody can get it in a reasonable amount of time, post a fourth clue to keep the game going...

EXAMPLE:

Topic: Geography

Clue #1 - Think South
Clue #2 - Home of Many a Penguin
Clue #3 - Bring a Parka

Answer: Antarctica

THE CATCH!!!! The answers must be in alpha order.... Antarctica, Burma, etc. and when we reach Z, we cycle backwards, Z to A

CLOSED TOPICS: History

VIABLE TOPICS (Can be added to, post any suggestions on the forum):
Geography, Gaming, Computers, Science, Movies (Drama), Movies (Comedy), Movies (Misc.), Television (Classic), Television (Current), Sports, Music

Sweet, great idea...I think you oughta start it Supermario, as the inventor of aforementioned game

supermario
03-28-2005, 07:33 PM
Here we go with question #1... remember that the answer to this question will start with "A"...

Topic: Geography

Clue #1: Marchia orientalis ("Eastern Border" in Latin)
Clue #2: From Caesar to Hitler...
Clue #3: Großglockner up High in the Sky...

HinesDaMan
03-28-2005, 07:34 PM
Austria, I would assume from the Hitler reference...am I correct?

supermario
03-28-2005, 07:38 PM
Yes, all yours for the next question... :)

Remember it has to have a topic, three clues, and an answer starting with "B"...

Good luck to everyone, and once again, if there are any additional topics you want considered, let me know by posting on this thread...

HinesDaMan
03-28-2005, 07:42 PM
SHWEET!

Topic: Diction

Clue #1: This one's "obvious"
Clue #2: Opposite meaning of the word spelled (incorrectly) when the first letter is eliminated...
Clue #3: It's rude and celebrated, depending on the context

supermario
03-28-2005, 07:55 PM
Sorry, but Diction is not a category in the questions (yet)... if a lot of people want diction, I can add it... the intention of this thread is to have multiple topics, and if one gets overused, it can be "closed", forcing people to come up with new and creative things...

I'll go ahead with "B" for now, just to keep things going...

TOPIC: Gaming

Clue #1: Baby Blues
Clue #2: Think Parka, Folks
Clue #3: What do you think, Nana?

Mick

Kefka... idk, I figure it must be final fantasy because of the japan connection, but that's the only k name that i've heard, never playing them myself (yet).

EDIT: Yay, I'm a bunny smasher now, lol... I will keep those categories in mind and use them in the future... gracias

If nobody can get it in another day or so, I will post a fourth clue... I think I'll make that a rule, so the game doesn't die with an impossible question...

EDIT: Also, due to a lack of people using it and imo having too large a scope, the category "History" has been CLOSED. However, due to multiple requests, the category "Music" is now open, starting with the next question.
If anyone can think of any history related topics, albiet with a smaller scope, lemme know, and I'll add it.

Hey, Supermario, I'm a huge fan of history, so how about adding War as a topic? That's a narrower view of history, but history nonetheless.

BTW...add another clue, I cannot get this question for the life of me

Oh snap...Lord of the Rings?

But how does that fit clues 1-4?

supermario
04-06-2005, 06:07 PM
That's right (Finally!!!) It was the only "L" I could think of at the time, but I wanted to make it not a giveaway. I guess I make it quite challenging.... :p

Here's the "answer key":

Clue #1: There were three movies, hence the "uno, dos, tres"... and involves the "darkness"/shadow...

Clue #2: Bilbo and Frodo closed out the movie by sailing away on the Sea to their futures

Clue #3: Check the poem, three rings for elven-kings, seven for dwarf lords, nine for mortal men, and... the one to rule them all...

Clue #4: Whatamonga is a place in New Zealand, where the movies were filmed

Clue #5: Elessar is the formal name for Aragorn...

Every1sHero

The answer is Makaveli; the alter-ego of Tupac Shakur.

By the way, HinesDaMan...Both Changes and Keep Ya Head Up were released under the name of 2Pac, so those wouldn't help the Makaveli clue, would it?

Ok, I've decided to make some rule changes to make this game a bit easier, and hopefully, give it a jump start...

First, the Movies & Television category, after this past question by HinesDaMan, will be split into the following: Movies (Comedy), Movies (Drama), Movies (Misc.), Television (Classic), and Television (Current).

Many of these new categories will be closed soon to keep the game fairly limited, and keep it new in the future.

These changes will take effect after HinesDaMan's last question, but if he wants, he can change it to fit the new category, but that's completely up to him.

HinesDaMan
04-17-2005, 02:45 PM
Hmmm...well, I'm going to call this movie a mixture of comedy and drama, with some action on the side. Would that be Miscellaneus?

The question will stand, but for an added hint I will say that it was made after 1999

supermario
04-17-2005, 04:28 PM
The extremely sad part about this is that I just made the game easier, and I still have no clue, lol....

Just a heads up, I'll probably be (at least temporarily) closing two or three topics in the near future to keep the game specific, but still expandable...

That's really nice and interesting idea to play the game. Its really time pass and enjoyable game. I like it and also multi player can play simultaneously.
