I'm just curious as to everyone's opinion on games that have been announced for consoles this year. I'm a Nintendo fan, so I'm not very familiar with the PS2 and XBOX upcoming releases, but I have seen the Legend of Zelda trailers, and they look awesome IMO. Any opinions on this or any other game coming soon for consoles?

Yeah Zelda for the Cube looks pretty freaking awesome :D :D :D
I think I'll have to get it... Plus, it is a Zelda game, so it's gotta be good :D

I liked Zelda since they first came out with it back in the NES days. I haven't played any from gamecube, but really want to.

I haven't played the WindWaker much, so I couldn't tell you if it was any good or not... now Super Mario Sunshine, that was bad...
Anybody here have a DS? If so, have you seen screens for Nanostray, Mario Kart DS, and/or the New Super Mario Brothers?

Excluding the old NES (which I bought last year), I've never really had/been into consoles. Yet, if the brand new Princess Maker 4 would some day make it to Europe, I'd be ready to purchase a PS2 just to get myself that game. Yeah, I happen to like the series. ^^;
So, for everyone into nice "simulation" games on PS2 living in Japan/China/Korea, PM4 is something to look forward to.

I am an oldgamer. that should tell you what you need to knwo about my opinion on the games stated here. personally, i think that zelda was oine of the few serie that was able to bring its charm inoit the n64 and new gaming. but, uinfortunatly, that hasnlt continued wiht the newer additiosn to the series . . . .
with many of the old series form nintendo, i find they are becomign way too childish, going the same way as final fanstasy, and becomign too much story wityh little gmaeplay or choice. with an rpg or adventure game, the key to a good gaming experience is choice. . . . and you just donl;t get that like ou used to back in the super nintendo (or earlier) days. now, whenh you have a game thatb really allows you choice, it gives you choice in the worng ways. or not eniougbn in the right ones.
example: fable. you could be evil and completely change the story, but, every single method of gaining experience involved beatign up a monster which put up your good side. every way iof gpoing on in the game involved doing somethign that would help your good side . .. . . and yo8u had limited choices on jhow to eb evil, that soon run out. you cannot be evil, uinless you stay in one oart of the game and do nothing.
another example: FF10, the level up grid thingy. if you do it right, you can absoluty pwn any enemy in the game by about a quater way through the game by smart leveling up: gok all thowards attack, hp, instead of defense, or magic, speed instead of . . . .. if the level system ahd been a little more like super mario rpg, it would have beenb a lot better, you chose a bionus, rathner then wehich statk, to put up. all of your stats went up, you jysfg chose which of three particulars to put up by a little more.
another example: black and white. the story and gameplay was so much putty, that it really didn;t work well as a one player game. and wityh its graphics, it is incredibly hardto play online, even if you have a good enough connection. and then the add-on? creature island . . . was horrible.
that should help youi understand my viewpoint on most games coming out now, or jyst came out . . . .
I could gop into a lengthy debate on the topic on new vs. od game sif anyone wnats to oipen a new thread . . . . .

Ok, I can do that...
Yeah, I don't think today's games compare to the games of yesteryear, but I figure I might as well look forward to what's coming as opposed to what's gone... Yeah, I would rather have my SNES anyday. But yeah, I've kinda killed the controllers after 10-12 years of good use...

hehe. i repaired my controllers wotuh other brojken pc controllers i found at my local dump. wonl;t work again, infortuinatly, now across the province we have incinerators.
I hav rto find a site again, actually, whereas you can order contrlllers or parts or even consoles that run with the old games. some guy makes them for a hobby, and he got a license from nintendo to make old snes controllers and other systems to sell to peopel who stiklll enjoy yht e games. ninmtendo is stewing over that descisiojn now, i betcha!
anyways, i'm gonna find that suite for you8 now . . . . bit expensive, but you ligve in the states, (don;lt you?) so it should ber a little cheaper then it is for me, living in canda, exchange rate and all.

Don't worry... I'm fine for now... besides, Nintendo still sells them... just I'm not ready to shell out the $20 a piece for them...
