I'm a big fan of these games too. I've finished Far Cry and just got Half Life 2 for my birthday.... love that gravity gun!!!!!! :D

I do like the strategy games like Warcraft but I don't play them much these days.

I have 3 favorites.

Arcanum, which is a good RPG. Its a bit old now, but still available I think.

Diablo 2 with expansion, this is the first hack and slash I ever played, and even though its a bit limited in scope, it makes up for that and more with action.

Afterlife, a very old sim game. It won't install or save on my comp because of its age, but I just can't stop myself from playing it, even though I have never yet mananaged to get a financialy secure heaven and hell. I run out of money every game :D.

My 4 favourite games fit on one floppy disk, and I have had this floppy disk since around 1990. Some of the games are earlier than 1990 but they've been transferred from place to place. However, this disk now travels with me...everywhere. The Games? They are quite simple games, some are unheard of and unavailable. Why those games? Nostalgia and they are all replayable, fun and easily transportable.

1. Prince of Persia 1 [1990 Broderbund]
2. Moraff's Blast 1 [ 198X Moraffware]
3. Psion Chess [1985 Psion Ltd.]
4. 3Demon [1983 PC research Inc]

1st of all Prince of Persia one is by far one of the best games ever created. Moraff's blast 1 is a Breakout type game with lots of options and nice colours. Not available anywhere on the net AFAIR but fantastic.
Psion Chess is a nice fun chess game for whenever you need a decent game of chess :)
3-Demon - great game, can't say anything more than that :p

red faction 2 is brilliant and so is HALFLIFE 2 !!!!

I knwo most of you won;t know what games I am talking about here . . . .
but:
Explosion! (1985, text game)
milons secret castle (nes, hudson)
gauntlet (nintendo)
and . . . . probably a variation on TurboWheels with 176 weapons and 100 different players/ai's at the same time.
oh, yeah, and a chess game called super laser chess . . . 64 by 64 square board. You can travel the whole board to egt to your oppents at eh other coner of the map . . .(yuou ahve 64 pieces each). Or you can fire your laser cannons off of your many many different tools whoch double as pawns/queens/kinghts/bishops/rooks. btw, all pieces are restricted to 5 spaceas at a time. its awesomwly complicated, but all you do ios rotate your pieces and fire to win, really. still fun despite everything. Oh, and due to the zoom factor on the board, you can onlky see party of your forces . . . .and nothing else! I pity the bored idiot who made it . ...
I usually have a game like that on my favorite games l9st. if nothing else, then to give people a huge reason to doubt whatever i say. surprisingly useful. and fun if you can see -peoples faces whenh you display evidence sucha thing even exists.

I've bought numerous copies of CounterStrike, and attempted to get online games set up, but I just can't, the main reason I purchased the game was to play online, so I just have to make do with other games. My favourite game at the moment has to be Football Manager 2005, it's so realistic :)

I liked the whole Blizzard set of games (Diablo, the war/starcraft games), but taking the cake is definitely the Sims and Sims2 (messing with people's lives is fun)

Any of you guys tried Farcry? Compared to HL2 the grapics is a bit better and the gameplay is far better. There are many outdoor levels where you can go any way you want, so you are not restricted to dungeons and buildings all the time. I played HL2 a fair bit but I haven't finished cause I got bored with it.

After playing World of Warcraft for a while and becoming addicted, I thought they should put some sort of warning on the box. Sort of like the warnings on a pack of cigarettes..

Something like...

Warning - WoW can cause death ....yes from staying up all night playing and then stepping in front of a bus on the way to work.

Warning - WoW can cause lung cancer ....from staying inside all day and not going out for fresh air

Warning - Playing WoW when pregnant can harm your baby ..... it can cause all sorts of problems like the baby can't sleep without the sound of computer games in the room, develops unusually long fingers for typing, or needs regular battery changes when the energy is discharged:D

Warning - Playing WoW can harm others .... yes all the other PvP enabled players that you kill for points!!!

Id have to agree with mick on the WOW thing. Thank game is so addictive it not even funny. It is also very fun though. Anyways onto the list.

All the games mentioned are excellent but aren't you forgetting some of the classics like Thief or Fallout? I spend tons of time playing pc games and they rank amongst my favourites but my all time fave is half-life, especially opposing force mod!

P.S. I also love to play Championship Manager!
